I do love the series, but its heavy-handed, borderline preachy symbolism is the main reason why I prefer the much more grounded The Boxer. It may not have the immediate "tragedy hit" a parable-like narrative of The Horizon dishes out in every arc, but it feels a lot more human, well-developed, and has characters that are actually likable.
