It's a huge anime season and most of it's good!?

I can't even remember the last time I saw a season this jam-packed with top-tier shows... every time I think I've got a handle on everything, I'm reminded I've forgotten something good.

The best premier for me, so far, has been Frieren -- those first four episodes were absolutely spectacular. A fantastic adaptation of what's rapidly become one of my all-time favorite fantasy manga.

But we're still waiting on some of the bigger shows... personally while I know PLUTO will almost-certainly impress, I'm most anxious to see how The Apothecary Diaries turn out. It's easily among my favorite LN series, right up there with Ascendance of a Bookworm. And for solid comedy, Tearmoon Empire should be a lot of fun, and Spy X Family has already well-established its quality.

I'm also pretty curious to see how the second season of The Eminence in Shadow will play out. The LN series it's based on is pretty much C-or-D-tier material, but the first season of the anime did a really fantastic job of adaptation -- highlighting the best parts of the original work and minimizing the weaker elements, all with pacing and animation several steps above the usual fare we get with Isekais. It'd be nice if the second season could keep that up.

For some reason it premiers awfully late, it's still more than two weeks before we even see the first episode. I assume it won't make it to the preview guide?

I can't do Apothecary Diaries dirty like that. We'll bring back the guide to update it when the first episode drops.
