Fact check: Gaudi is Spanish.

That aside, the manga looks interesting. Araki really seems to be in his own category as an artist.

I pre-ordered this little gem as soon as it was listed. It is a very nice little book, totally worth owning for anyone who is an Araki fan.

I had given up hope that ANN would review it, since it was kind of an anomaly. It makes me so happy to see it reviewed in this column. Thank you, Shaenon! (also thanks go to Jason, who let you run with it).

I would love to see more Rohan books like this, unfortunately I don't think that will happen.

The book is still available at Amazon (at least 11 of them, as of this post).

Which part do you consider "postapocalyptic sci-fi?" I understand that part 1 is gothic horror, part 3 (and to a lesser extent part 2) is globe-trotting battle manga, part 4/8 is murder mystery, and part 7 is Western. Is postapocalyptic sci-fi a reference to spoiler[the post 6 finale events]?

In any case, way to go plugging JoJo! =) I hope that with CrunchyRoll getting the rights to the anime that we get a good shot at having the whole series animated. David Productions has done a wonderful job thus far!

I do so wish there was more color manga. I mean, there's nothing wrong per se with black and while. But there's just so much fun vibrant stuff you can do with color.

I wish I knew what Araki's obsession with dislocated shoulders was all about

That looks like either

A) cheating with the 3D program to get the shot to look right (no need to perfectly rig parts of the mesh that won't be in the final shot anyway), or
B) Araki's 2D poses and compositions getting mugged by the limits of a 3D reality Very Happy
