It has always been rather obscure, but the bizarre Christmas episode of Majokko Tsukune-chan, wherein Santa is assassinated only to be replaced by a mecha version of himself, has become something of a festive tradition for me.

While I haven't fixated on one particular episode (tho the Gintama Santas can't be beat), I have made it a tradition on Christmas Eve to sit down and watch DBZ Abridged's christmas specials. Gives me a good laugh every year.

What about Time Bokan 24's revelation that the figure we call Santa was actually the buff, muscular Rudolph who pulled the sled, and "Santa" was a gift-giving reindeer.
(Yes, the American jokes dripped pretty heavy on the show, and Japan still hasn't found out there were eight reindeer...) |

I am surprised that Bleach: Diamond Dust Rebellion was not on the poll.

With all these wild interpretations of Santa, it's always given me the impression that Japan has a pretty low opinion of him. On the other hand, I still remember the Santa vs. Kyouka battle from Kazoku Nikki for being pretty epic. XD
Old poll: Sorry for nitpicking, but I'm glad Duuz didn't land a spot in the top twenty, because he's not an oji-san, as I mentioned previously. |

I was very happy to see the Urusei Yatsura summer Christmas episode up on the poll without having to add it myself!

The series certainly had its faults, but Strawberry Marshmallow
did have a funny, well behaved Christmas episode with 'Santa Miu' striking some ridiculous poses when caught delivering presents |

R.O.D. Ep10 kills me every time, thanks for thinking of it. No Anita, God is not useless, He used DS to bring you and Maggie and Michelle together and His love moved thier hearts to create something DS never imagined: real love and a real family...Things like this can and do happen in reality, but how sad for all the times that people don't follow His promptings and stories like Anita's play out without the happy ending...Sponsor a child this Christmas

I mean, it happens right after an arc where spoiler[Hitler's enshrined frozen sperm further developed a cult by givin birth to a stillborn bicephalous baby] and then everything combusted. That anime was nuts. |

Still have to love episode 11 of Big O, in which Paradigm City is threatened by a giant Christmas tree.

While this is a stretch as it's a parody I gotta mention Santa in the DBZ Abridged Plan to Eradicate Christmas movie. Christmas is ho-ho-over.
