I watch astronomical amounts of anime and have no preference so; I just keep up to date with weeklies and generally spin a wheel on a predetermined group of shows, otherwise I would be sitting for hours trying to choose something.

Thankfully lots of anime watching has made me realize what my tastes are and thus know what I truly do and don't want to watch. I do pick up some of the older anime that I missed out on every now and then though. The result is staying up to date with the weeklies and slowly finishing the older anime I still want to see. Being content with not being able to see everything helps too, FOMO and anime are a nasty combo.

I just look at trailers, and watch what appeals to me. I don‘t have a specific genre, I watch almost everything. Well, maybe I watch too much, since I‘m currently watching 30 different shows per season.

I try to watch about 21 shows a season. A few extras tend to show up as well as at least one old series per season. I keep track in a notepad file and am pretty good at keeping up but once in a while a busy Saturday throws it all off. The idea behind 21 is about 3 per evening which would work quite well if I didn't always end up with Saturday being stacked and Tuesday or Wednesday being light. I can usually get caught up in a week when it gets thrown off because of my system. Video games like Pikmin 4 can also throw things off though...

Though I don't typically follow many shows week-to-week as they're airing (this season being a notable exception, since it's pretty packed), I do maintain a checklist of what I've seen and what I have yet to get through on my computer. Computers are great at organizing things, so might as well make use of it! That way I can look at a stack of shows that have been sitting around for six months or more and know what's on my to-watch list and what isn't. And since it's just a file on my computer, it's easy enough to edit and throw stuff out if I'm just not feeling a show for whatever reason.

I tend to listen to people's recommendations. It's weird for me to pay attention to trailers unless it is something like Kekkai Sensen where the keyvisual looked crazy.
Definitely, the one I enjoyed the most this year is Vinland Saga but there are many second places like Skip, Heavenly Delusion, and most recently, Frieren. For some reason I don't remember much but Trigun Stampede and Blue Lock were also entertaining. There are also two cases of delays that made me forget the anxiety of watching it like Zom 100 and Nier Automata (this one wasn't given its actual ending). |

I make sure to always walk at least 10.000 steps everyday, I check my clock at 7ish pm and simply run on the treadmill for the missing steps, whom tend to be between 6 to 7 thousand, this translates to 40ish mins on the machine.
This is enough to watch 2 episodes of anime, so each week I watch like 10 episodes of Anime, this leaves me with virtually no backlog. I also refuse to watch anything with the harem tag, this reduces the number a lot nowadays. |

There are shows I have not picked up on yet, for lack of time, basically.
I remember there being a massive gap of time between watching the first 6 episodes of Cowboy Bepop and the rest. Literaly years. When I finally finished it, I wondered to myself: "How the **** did this happen?" |

I use https://www.livechart.me/fall-2023/tv and have all the shows I'm interested in watching marked and check off each episode per series as I watch them. It keeps me on top of them very orderly, (some 20 series usually per season). It goes back quite a few years and lists the new anime as they are announced for future seasons. "Can't watch without it" (tm)

I have literal thousands of anime DVD/Bluray discs hanging around and sub to two anime streaming services, so there's definitely no shortage for me either. I just pick something at random or a genre I'm in the mood for and go for it. The easiest method for me when finding it hard to watch something is to say "I'm going to watch something now" and just grab a disc at random from the shelf.
I also use Anime-Planet as a tracker to help me remember what episode I left off at if I stall a show for a bit, or what parts of a franchise I finished watching. It definitely helps keep things straight for me when you watch a bunch of a franchise like Gundam and can't quite remember which ones you did/didn't like. |

I'm starting to look at backlog-conquering with all the games that I have.
I'm definitely not expecting to "finish" all of them by any means, but I'm giving a fair shake to all the bundle titles of various sorts that made it in there. I might get bored at some point, but I'm also making a point to hide any and all games that I'm not excited to continue at some point. As for anime, it's more like "I have bandwidth to watch x shows on my own. This is in addition to y shows that I watch with a group. Of the entire possibility space of anime out there, which are the ones that most interest me, right now" Watching *everything* that sounds interesting just isn't gunna' happen. ...And for games that I want to finish, well, realistically, I'm only chugging away at a few at a time. The mass trying of bundle games may highlight ones that make it into an active slot, but they don't add new slots. Unless they're like really short. I'm going to finish Abzu... though my playthrough of Talos Principle 2 is getting pushed away while that happens. |

I've watched anime for long enough that I already have a pretty good sense of my own likes and dislikes, so I don't try to watch absolutely everything that comes out each season and just pick what I personally find the most interesting. I typically only watch two to three seasonal anime as they're airing, maybe four at most, since that's typically all I have time for lately.
That said, I do have a backlog when it comes to older classics that I either want to rewatch or haven't seen before...I still need to finish Cowboy Bebop and Princess Tutu. |

According to MAL i've watched 383 days worth of anime and watched over 1200 series.
If its in English its easy to binge while i play PlayStation. My main thing currently is getting up to date with Detective Conan. I just find as long as i watch a few every week ill catch one day. Half way currently on the show and movies. I get adults are busy, but i never understand how people cant set aside 20 minutes to watch one episode, hell even a cour takes like what, 4 hours? People spend more time scrolling their phone most days now. |
