Late June, Disney+ will start streaming the movies separated into weekly episodes (so movie 1 will be the first 3 episodes according to the review). There's no specific date yet, but yeah. They'll stream as a regular weekly show

Forgot about this, but good to see the first 3 episodes have turned out well. Hopefully it continues
I wonder if they justify why they took over Hokkaido in universe. Obviously the creators wanted to emulate the original's Japan vs Britania angle, but in universe, you'd think Britanian remnants would want to avoid Japan considering how large a role it played in ending the old empire.

There is a lot of praise for the Mech animation, does this mean they went back to 2D like in the original TV show? I know later entries went for 3DCG, despite being Sunrise productions.

Sunrise like the rest of the anime industry seems to be lacking in 2D mecha animators. So I'd be very surprised if this has tons of 2D mecha animation.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled was such a strange series. Beautifully directed and animated (I hoped it'd finally make Kazuki Akane more known in the west) but losing steam with every movie and fading into obscurity. I don't expect this to be as gorgeous but at least it sounds more fun and set up for success. Looking forward to watching!

Someone mentioned to me that Disney has stated the release will be "Edited" but I haven't been able to find a source for that or what that actually means. Hoping it doesn't mean "edited content" rather than just the whole splitting it into episodes thing.
