I thought this was gonna be about really messed-up scenes that would actually need balls to put it on the game nowadays.

For example:

-The deleted scene of Cloud and Tifa having PG-13 sex.
- Hojo making Red XIII rape Aerith.
- Cloud hiring a prostitute.
- Cloud being molested by a gang of gay men.
- Cid treating Shera like garbage.
- Hojo surrounded by girls on bikini on the beach... for some dammed reason.

And those are only the ones I remember.

I don't think the game is getting a world map since it's broken up in 3 part so I doubt chocobo breeding will really be in the game, at least not the the extend that the original did.

Motorcycle game is probably in, the smart money is on the first part finishing once you get out of midgard so it's probably going to be the last big set piece.

In addition to the scenes mentioned, I think it is almost certain that they will drop most of the games goofiness that added such much to its charm. None of the other spin-offs had that, and the "rule-of-the-cool" approach of Advent Children in particular set a new mood for the franchise that scrapped most everything that made Final Fantasy VII special. The new photorealistic approach may give birth to some stunning action scenes and amazing vistas, but I fear it will be hard to implement the more comicy scenes if the new game takes itself all too seriously.

I don't get why the jacuzzi scene wouldn't fly now... this isn't a kid's game.

The open world was one of the aspects I liked most in the original. If they take that out...

The most likely to end up dlc: Mansion in Junon which can be bought.(It could also be rented in the original, but if you had enough gil...)

This wasn't a kids' game when we were kids but did that stop any of us from playing it?Nope!Honestly, that whole "potential sexual assault" thing never registered until I read this article,I always thought Cloud was getting a message or something.

I do think that if the cross-dressing is kept,it's going to be hysterical.

When it comes to JRPG's on the original Playstation, I was always much more of a Star Ocean: the Second Story fan myself, but I gotta admit that splitting Final Fantasy VII into three "episodes" and removing turn-based combat kind of killed whatever limited interest I might have had in the remake.

Sorry, if I'm buying a remake of a game that was initially "complete" at retail (any sequel or spin-off notwithstanding), I only want to pay for it once and I want the gameplay experience to perhaps be tweaked a little but still be a close approximation of the gameplay from the original version of the game.

I understand that many people find turn-based combat tedious and I understand changing up the gameplay to make it appeal to a wider audience, and I'm not saying that they should ditch the action-oriented gameplay for those people who would rather experience the game that way, but I don't see why they can't at least include the option to play it as a turn-based game for those of us who aren't turned-off by menus and stats during battle.

I want an expanded flashback where you get to play as Zack. Maybe add a little bit more of what happened in Crisis Core with Aerith, Sephiroth, and Cloud. That'd be nice.

Some of the stuff on that list I don't see a problem with, and others could stand to be changed. I think the date with Barret was always meant to be a joke kind of thing. Like, you managed to get Barret's affection (which starts at 0), higher than Aerith's, Tifa's, and Yuffie's (which start at 50, 30, and 10 respectively). That takes some considerable planning, and I think getting rewarded with a boring night where Barret ends up shooting at fireworks is fitting. Like how you get a golden chunk, of poop for wasting your time with Korok seeds in Breath of the Wild. That said, if they're planning on telling an actual story, they'll likely give you no choice at all in who you go on the date with, and it will always be Aerith.

Also, while I'm here... Everyone's assuming this game is going to be a remake of Final Fantasy VII, but I see it being a remake of not just the original game, but also large parts of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII franchise.

A lot has happened since the original announcement back in 2015, but that trailer showed us a couple glimpses of Edge. That's the city that was formed in the outskirts of Midgar after the end of Final Fantasy VII. If they still plan to make a game of the same scope as what that original announcement showed us, then part of, or all of one of the games is going to take place after the events of the original game. With that in mind, I don't think it's too outrageous to think they could do the same for stuff that comes before the FFVII story. Maybe they'll even do a FFVIII style thing of switching between Cloud and Zack's stories. Could be interesting.

For similar reasons why those two gay guys who chase Ryuji around in Persona 5 got complaints from westerners. It's a common okama stereotype joke in Japan, but westerners complain about it.

All this stuff will depends how much Square, or perhaps Sony want to focus on western audiences. I fully expect the slap fight, cross dressing segment, and Don Cornio in general being either omitted or severely toned down given the way Sony are going these days. Cid and Shera will probably be toned down as well.

I lose interest in the remake the more I hear about it, to be honest.

Nah, don't do just the slap fight or the fight. Make it so the player can choose at any time to go from slapping to a full out battle.
