This is one of those shows with a killer first episode that struggles to live up to it afterwards. I don't particularly regret watching it, though.

Putting aside the writing, while the character designs are great, they're not depicted well: everyone looks kinda...off, a bit too often. And, it is very weird how boring most of the card powers are: We start with Make Anything Into Marbles Guy, a spectacular opener, and then the main character's power is...a gun. Just a gun. Not even the fun Hol Horse type.

I agree that the other characters don't get enough attention - this is a team show that is barely a team show. Why IS Vijay even in this??

But, I do think the second half of the series is distinctly better than the first: It has most of the strongest episodes, and the animation & drawing quality are generally improved. I was glad I stuck with it.

Not perfect, but if they make more, I will be there.

I'd also like to highlight Tomokazu Seki's performance as the villain Ban Klondike - particularly enjoyable.

I thought the second half was overall a bit weaker than the first and I found myself leaving it behind towards the end as other shows got priority. The odd lore as mentioned in the review didn't help.
I would have preferred more time spent with the rest of the team and more weird card powers.
The cards being stolen right after being collected made me roll my eyes at that trope, but then we didn't even get to see a bunch of those cards being used :/
