Angel Beats is very fun. I'd argue it has sort of proto-s**tpost energy for a good chunk of the runtime before going full Visual Arts. Definitely worth watching.
My concern is we're going to get sad microtransactions in snow and no one wants that. |

I stopped playing WoW ages ago but it does seem weird how many people seem to hate it but still play it. Addiction I guess. FFXIV is fun but I am kind of burnt out on it myself. Been playing it for 10 years and kinda just feels routine to me. I like the new expansion though and I always wanted Corsair.

As much as I would love Beastmaster to be one of the new FFXIV jobs (I maxed out BST/WHM in FFXI, my favorite job) I've given up on it ever happening. I feel like it would require a system overhaul to happen.
That whole thing with the giant taco is almost definitely referencing a FFXIV meme where people misunderstood the lyrics to Ruby Weapon's theme as "big fat tacos". As soon as the new trailer hit people already started making videos. I still have to catch up. I stopped just short of starting Endwalker last year. Every time I my sub renews I'm all "I'm definitely going to play this week, no point in canceling!" and then another three months go by... Emerje |

Because of WoW Classic (especially Wrath of the Lich King - WoW at its peak) and Dragonflight got them back into good graces |

Anyone still carrying on with this tired mopery in 2023 needs to grab their rocking chairs and choke on their tuna melts. The only bad games released in that stretch were 06, Shadow The Hedgehog, Rise Of Lyric,& StH Advance. |

Sonic games were a bit of a mess during that time period. Sonic Heroes has a banging intro, but also it's a buggy mess (they couldn't bugtest it, so long as a level was "playable" it was good enough). The Sonic Storybook games were creative ideas, and I defend them--but I won't deny Sonic and the Black Knight is a clunky mess. The better qualities of the Sonic games between Adventure 2 and Sonic Mania get vastly overshadowed by the messier aspects, which are definitely overstated (and definitely not worth the ire in today's day and age when people still fall on their swords over freaking Skyrim). But the games do have issues. I think their saving grace is that Sonic is perenially beloved by children who can overlook relatively minor flaws like wonky controls (and if there's something Gamers™ hate, it's stuff that actual genuine kids like).

Ummm... https://store.steampowered.com/app/324160/CLANNAD/ I'm not sure how long this has been available digitally, but I checked my old Kickstarter receipts and the initial backer-funded effort to localize the game ran in 2015. My physical copy has been gathering dust on a shelf for the better part of a decade now. Not sure about Kanon or Air, but if you have access to the Steam store (in the US at least, not sure about other regions), you can buy CLANNAD, in English, right now. |

Not this week. We had a lot to discuss otherwise.
Gonna be honest, I had no clue that this was even a thing! Thanks for sharing this! |

You can even buy Clannad on the PS4 and Switch( with this version having a physical copy too) in there respective NA online stores. I will say Sonic Prime is actually a good show. Its not the best Sonic show, that honor goes to Sonic Boom by a mile, but still it is a really good look into the negative aspects of Sonic's character. It also has a lot of fun with the different dimension personalities of the other main Sonic characters. |

True but it is kinda funny to look at the discourse of certain games from that time period and see how seemingly beloved these games are now. Like I still remember people shitting on Sonic All Stars Racing all because it had temerity to put Sonic in a car and yet now debateable as it seems people see it as a valid Mario Kart contender. People hated Sonic Unleashed for a number of reasons some even going as far as to call it a worse game than 06 which was clearly rushed through it’s development cycle in particular the Werehog portions of the game to the point people played up the Wii & PS2 ports for having a few less segments. Nowadays that hate is largely non existent. |

oh great, now I'm gonna have the theme music stuck in my head all day (except all I remember is when they say "Sonic Heroes" so it'll be like 10 seconds rotating endlessly). I remember playing that game on... some console, presumably that a friend owned as I didn't have anything that could play it myself. Many years later when I was given an old PS2, I went out and bought a cheap second hand copy of the game, purely because I remembered liking the theme music (and the game too but mostly the music). |
