I'd rather take Marvel's near constant churning out of its movies over Anno's guaranteed constant delays. XD

The Anno/Marvel metaphor might work better if Anno was the ONLY director churning out any watchable or competently made anime at the moment, and every other director in Tokyo was destroying the industry and making a pig's-breakfast of their studios trying to copy everything Anno did?
Instead of, y'know, the reverse?
(Well, okay, we did have every anime studio slavishly trying to copy everything Evangelion did back in the early 00's, but we're over that and better now.
And there is that thing about other anime studios now setting out to make three or six anime features at a time...)

I really ought to go see Infinity War. Four of my coworkers have asked me about it and it's basically the central topic of conversation at the moment. I ought to at least know what they're talking about.

It's overhyped, but it's still plenty enjoyable as long as you've been at the very least casually enjoying Marvel movies. You might get lost, but it explains itself well enough that you can just roll with it if you force yourself.

I'm deliberately saving it for next Friday, not just to avoid the crowds, but because as a moviegoer, I morally and spiritually reject the fact that we have a big summer-tentpole most-awaited Marvel movie opening on Apr. 27, and NOTHING opening on May 4, for literally the first time in twenty years. (And, in fact, in the entire 21st century to date.)
...That's just not right.
Of course, the entire Internet's spoiled it for me already, but me, I just don't go for those "Oo, cool, dark and ambiguous!" Empire Strikes Back endings anyway, so it's not like I'm on pins and needles as it is.
Just so long as they don't screw it up like Avengers 2 did after that long wait, that's all I ask.

Or you could be like me and read up on all of the spoilers. I'm looking forward to seeing it on the big screen whenever I get around to it.
I have lucked out at not getting into the series that have long delays. Eva, HunterxHunter, Beserk. Hopefully none of the current manga I'm following suffers such a situation.

I suppose he has a bit of a point considering we've finally hit the point where 2 MCU movies are in theaters at the same time. But everything has been consistently good and that's the important thing.

I would also point out that there is also Deadpool hitting next month as well. Yes I know, it's not in the Marvel MCu, but it is still a Marvel title so I would still quasi count that. It was obvious Infinity War would dominate the first month but it will be very interesting to see how DP2 does with Infinity War only 1 month old (look how well Black Panther is still doing) and it going head to head with Solo.

Oh, I have seen my fair share of the Marvel movies (and the DC ones that have been well-received, and a few that haven't), so the odds of me getting lost are pretty low, especially since I also have a decent knowledge of the comic books behind these movies too. Also partially because I missed Black Panther and have been kicking myself for forgetting to go watch it.

I got into Hunter X Hunter just before Togashi got into long hiatuses. Ah well. Whatever will be will be.

Yeah, Deadpool's a separate beast. Though seeing how Rogue One was kinda meh and Last Jedi was super divisive to say the least, I think people aren't so optimistic about new Star Wars anymore. Not sure how it'll fair against Infinity War but I think Deadpool will definitely do better than Solo.

You know Infinity War and Eva 3.33 really do have a bit in common. Both are movies that are ultimately pure set-up for the next one and their big shocking narrative twist at the end will either in time be vindicated as a bold brilliant choice if the next film sticks to the landing or retroactive be reveled as a hollow and cheap stunt if the sequel fails in that task.
