I am watching one brand new series this season, and it's not exactly a good one, Uzaki-Chan Wants to Hang Out (although I obviously don't see the "hate" others are getting from it).
I'm putting off sequels until I can catch up, and will continue with the couple junk food shows that are continuing from Spring (Breakwater & Appare-Ranman... decided to wait to binge Food Wars) but the new original stuff? Meh, meh, and more meh. Maybe if reviews show them to be better than first impressions.

From first impressions of the summer season line up, it's clear that there will be something for everybody to enjoy.

Sorry, but I can't endorse this viewpoint. I still think this is the weakest season in years.

Winter 2020 was honestly probably the weakest season in awhile

There's something everyone will enjoy, but only one thing apiece, maybe?

The pandemic messed with production schedules, so it makes sense.
I’m loving Deca-Dence, Re:Zero 2 is getting interesting and Appare-Ranman is fun. No complaints here!

I thought Winter 2020 was pretty decent myself with Eizouken, Somali, Kyouko Suiri, and Jeweler Richard. I don't expect to watch more than 3-5 shows in a season, but I'm having trouble coming up with even one or two this season.

I'm watching Appare-Ranman, Fruits Basket season two, and will perhaps continue with Breakwater when it returns this week. But all of those began in the spring.

I'm in Yuna's camp here. IMO Eizouken alone is not only definitely at the top of the year but already, from the first season to qualify, is likely the series to beat for best of the next decade,

But if you compare the two seasons you can see what each is lacking for different fandoms. Winter 2020 had quality comedy and interesting unique SoL, drama, fantasy, whatever you call it. but new Shonen action? Plunderer. Even short series action/thrillers were on the quirky side and second-tier isekai/gaming world shows.
Summer is opposite. Continuations of THE top isekei, a tournament series at its most basic and arguably thrilling. Stuff for those that enjoyed Winter? Well, SNAFU's continuation, which, again, was supposed to be a spring show.
