Minmay winning hearts since the 80s!

I wish my friends reacted like this to DYRL. I've tried to make them watch and for the most part I got laughed at. There is some fluff in the movie but parts, like the final battle, are simply breath taking and the idea it's all done by hand makes it more spectacular to me!

DECULTURE!

You know what I kind of want to see Vice MST something that deserves his ridicule and not doing it out of spite.

But at least he shut his yap so that's good.

I actually WONDER if that was the cartoonist's intended conclusion when he wrote the first "Beardo" strip--
Okay, that group fan reaction didn't go as planned... Laughing

And yes, as noted in the "Will I still like this series when I'm...o-o-o-old?" thread, there are a lot of new-generation fans, movie, TV or anime, who want to pick on a decade for being a decade, without actually taking a close look at what was in it. (Or how much better it was when it was still mainstream, and not moe, fanservice, or incest for sheltered otakus in their apartments.)
Again, disk is the Great Equalizer--Once you put it in the slot, there's no "old" or "new" anymore, there's only We've Seen This And You Haven't.

This right here is why I hold Discotek Media in such high regard! Bringing the past to the present is what they do best.

Just OTP, if you check Discotek's Facebook page, heads up that they're doing another poll even as we speak, about whether we'd want all our vintage long-series SD episodes collected on one or two Blu-ray disks instead of DVD--

Fist of the North Star this time, rather than Samurai Pizza Cats.

I just want to see some anime-centered MST, period. I suppose the Abridged stuff will do for now.

I'm not sure if this is part of it, or even available in the rest of the world, but here in Canada Amazon's Prime Video service has been offering the original Macross in subtitled format. They have Robotech on there as well, but they're also offering the Japanese originals of all of the series that Harmony Gold combined to make that series.

This may be the sign we've been eagerly anticipating for a shift in how HG handles their ownership of the Macross license in North America, or it could just be nothing. But that's my best guess at what people are referring to there.

It appears to be a matter of playing the waiting game...

You can watch it legally right now. Although if you want to watch it with English subtitles, you're going to have to do some work...
