Sweet, I had no idea this was happening. The Budori Gusuko movie has always seemed super obscure over here. I loved NotGR, so this is really rad.

Gauche the Cellist, which has been out of print for more than a decade now

It does not seen like it has ever been released on disc in the West, at least not in R1.

I'm happy to see Guskou Budori got the english dub treatment, back when I watched it years ago I wouldn't have imagined it'd get such nice treatment. This is a definite buy for me as I remember it being a very gorgeous and enjoyable film.

Yeah, I was also confused by that remark. I've been wanting a copy of that for well OVER a decade, and have never heard of an R1 release. I believe its R2 release has English subtitles, and I see a BD floating around with English and French subs... but it's never been released in English-speaking regions to my knowledge.

Budori Gusuko has, however... and I shall happily be picking up a copy sometime this year. Smile

Oh sure, the week that Handshakers comes out, we take a look at a nice, philosphical film with "quality" and "art that doesn't make the audience nauseous." I expect a Handshakers review, you cowards! Face your fears and take that 6-hour plunge!

^ No, don't do it! You don't have to. We already know it's terrible. Please, spare your eyes!

...I am looking forward to those Kiss Him, Not Me and Gintama reviews, tho.

They dubbed The Life of Budori Gusuko, I must of missed an article. I rememberer them saying that it was getting dubbed, but I do not recall ever seeing any cast announcements or trailers.

I'm surprised they didn't go for an holographic cover that has all the character moving in all the direction (with flame in the background). Rolling Eyes

And still no hope for Rakugo. Sad

I can't help it, I get bitter every time I see some piece of crap like Headshakers getting a release.

My guess is that because they already spent the money dubbing it, they thought they should also release it on home media.

No doubt, though that calculus didn't convince Viz to release the rest of Monster. :/
