Whenever I got sick as a little kid, my mother wouldn't even let me near the TV. I was confined to bed and the only thing I was honestly allowed to do while ill was reading.

Elemental Dragon: Weren't Emerald Dragon's in-game character designs done by Ryukihei? The humans and dragons look like Dragon Century.

Nights of Azure: No dub? That's pretty lame honestly. This game isn't too Japanese or anything. Maybe it was declared too niche for an English dub.

she was attacked for being part of Nintendo's marketing arm (not its localization team)

I have to wonder how many of them simply didn't know, and how many didn't care as long as someone took the fall.

Also, surprised there was no mention of this in today's column. (Or was it just considered non-news?)

As Harle stated in Chrono Cross, "Humans are very selfish. They're always searching for someone or something to lay their blame on."

That has me slightly hopeful. I wasn't aware there was such an article.

Anything to take my mind off of being sick was good by me. I wasn't the type of kid to lie about being sick (and I never did....I wanted to do well in school) so being at home with a fever often meant I was playing pokemon or reading. Pokemon tended to be my go-to sick video game as a kid, since I could enjoy myself without expending all that much brain power.

As an adult, I tend to watch anime, play civ/pokemon/other turn-based games, or read. Reading is probably what takes my mind off of things the most, so when I'm feeling my crappiest I just stay in bed with a book until the meds kick in.

You know how you sometimes try to avoid falling for someone because you know you'll end up with a broken heart? That's me and Valkyrie Profile 3 news.

Seriously, though, Kobayashi didn't mention any details, and it's sorta taken for granted that developers have unused pitches for sequels to their properties.

form what people have told me, the secondary job was selling erotic pictures of herself; which I guess is not very compatible with nintendo's policies; pining her firing on gamgate is funny as for the "incident", so to speak , had her in teh same lien of tought as gamer gate, as she was arguign inf avour of keeping the localizations more accurate to the source material.

This is true and I've seen the pictures yesterday but with how everything she's seems to be a very careless person nonetheless (you don't put a thesis of such a sensitive nature in your linkedin profile, it's like putting your thesis supporting Communism on your profile but you aren't seeking work from an employer in China or Vietnam for example). Who in the world hires careless people like her to be PR where mistakes aren't really allowed for the most part?

Hello Todd. I shall respect your opinion on Nights of Azure. That is all on the matter.

In my family household growing up it was very much "if you're well enough to play videogames/watch TV/do anything other than sit in bed staring at the ceiling and coughing pitifully, you're well enough to go to school" :\

I've been watching the Nights of Azure page on Amazon for a while now debating whether to get it.

For anyone who has played it, is it a hack n slash like Senran Kagura? From the look of the screenshots, it seems to be, but I wasn't sure if it was turn-based or not.

Yeah, Alison Rapp's case is a little murky. It was definitely a witch hunt, but on the other hand, the things that were found were probably justifiable for Nintendo firing her considering their squeaky-clean image and that she's a spokesperson for them. Still shitty, but justifiable.

On a brighter note, I don't know if you could really call them "sick" days, but I pretty much played Kingdom Hearts exclusively while playing hooky in high school. Fond memories. But yes, I always have fantasies of playing video games all day when I'm home sick, but somehow when I do stay home sick I feel... well, too sick to much of anything but sleep.

Way back during the old days that I became sick, I would pass the time by adventuring in the Gold Version of Pokémon.

I took a gander on this Alisson Rapp and wonder why she even got hired by Nintendo in the first place. All tatted up and pierced like a porn actress. A complete antithesis to NoA's family friendly image. While she got the short end of the stick, her actions speak for themselves and she shouldn't put the blame on external powers alone. I mean, camwhoring using her PR tweets? How unaware can you be?

While not as bad as his take on Senran Kagura, Todd still can't let go of his moral sensibilities reviewing Nights of Azure. If he keeps it up, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns into the X Button: Polygon Edition.

This year doesn't want for controversies about sexual content in game. Just this week, Blizzard vowed to remove the Tracer archetype's victory pose in Overwatch...

Sexual content?

Is having a butt "sexual content"?

Nintendo fired an employee because of a misogynistic smear campaign.

She was a PR professional who generated a lot of bad PR. Breaking contract about side-employment aside why is that not a good reason to fire her? Why is publicizing publicly available statements she's made "misogynistic"?

What do you mean "turns into"?

If Rapp had been one of the people actually responsible for NoA's recent spurt of game censorship, I would be cackling with glee at her being fired, whatever the reason given. But she isn't, so I'm not.

One of the problems with going all torches and pitchforks on people, is that the mob isn't very picky about who it destroys, just as long as *someone* is on the receiving end.
