Magia Record not being popular sure is depressing

1. Eizouken
2. Asteroid
3. Bofuri
4. Hanako-kun
5. Number24

Keep in mind, these are just about the premieres. Since then, it turned out Budokan is actually pretty good enough to be among my top 5 shows, while Asteroid had a bit of a slump only to come back in full force at episode 4. And Number24 thankfully managed to be enjoyable but no longer among my top 5. Everything else is the same.

Oh, that's an easy answer:
1-Pet
2-Pet
3-Pet
4-Pet
5-Pet

Also enjoying ID invaded, Dorohedoro and Richard Jeweler... but, really, Pet puts everything else to shame... serious candidate for AOTY already...

1. Magia Record - A more mainstream version of the original series and while the story is a bit simpler it is still a very entertaining show.
2. Interspecies Reviewers - A very mature fanservice show that also has a lot of thought put into it.
3. Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun - A yokai fairy tale with endearing characters.
4. Nekopara - An adorable catgirl show with a lot of heart.
5. Somali and the Forest Spirit - A nice father daughter story set in an impressive fantasy world.

1. Dorohedoro
I'm not hot on the CG, but this show's art direction and craziness sure leaves an impact!

2. Eizouken
I can totally relate to this and it gets my creative juices flowing, and you also learn a few new things! This show will be a gem for animation lovers, like high school shirobako with more style!

3. In/Spectre
Love the main lead and this was certainly not what I suspected, and I'm pleasantly surprised! If it keeps this up, this could be as great as Noragami!

Haven't begun the new season of Haikyuu yet. Want to check out the fashion one.

I'd also say that Darwin's Game is off to an entertaing start.

Darwin's Game has potential to be top 5 for me because I liked the 3rd episode

The only two new titles I chose to follow this season were Somali and the Forest Spirit and Pet. The premises of the other shows didn't catch my fancy.

I actually also want to second Dorohedoro, I only left it out because it's not in the poll for understandable reasons. I haven't read the manga yet so I can't compare the two, but so far the direction has been top notch. I really don't mind the CGI either if it's a necessary sacrifice to be able to adapt it in the first place and it's not really intrusive to bother me.

Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! doesn't seem great to me.

I wonder if people only like because "Yuasa" made it. hmmmmm

Lol at the scare quotes around Yuasa's name. If you're curious as to why people like Eizouken might i suggest reading the preview guide entry for it? It even includes a positive reaction from a critic who directly says he doesn't like Yuasa's past work or style

In no particular order, the ones I'm probably sticking with:

Somali and the Forest Spirit -- looked pretty bland on the surface, but turns out it's very imaginative and also pretty cute. Fully expecting this one to have high levels of sads towards the end.

Magia Record -- even having played the game, wasn't sure what to expect from this, but so far seems like a great adaptation. Mainly just glad we finally have a new Madoka anime after like 7 years.

In/Spectre -- hadn't heard about this one at all, seems pretty low-budget, but the female lead's charmingly bizarre personality and the male lead's total straight-man act despite being some sort of immortal zombie make them both fun to watch, and they play off each other well.

I'm willing to believe the consensus that Eizouken is good, but I'm a bit exhausted with the "anime about making anime (and/or video games)" genre. The "all anime fans are mandated to enjoy this" vibe is also strong with that one. Nothing else looked particularly interesting. Come to think of it, I don't think I've actually watched any besides the ones above, so 3/3 so far.

I literally haven't seen anything from Yuasa before, so I'm not familiar with his style firsthand. I like it because it clicked with me and I would've watched it regardless of his involvement because of the subject matter.

Haven't really watched more than one episode of Eizouken, but probably won't continue.

Yuasa has become a big time director, and he has earned it with his great past work. Eizouken is looking like another strong work so far.
