Oh yes, in the fall of 1999 I was watching this show on Fox called Digimon with my kids and discovering all sorts of things Anime & Japan related with our newly enhanced 56K internet access.
Thankfully Spanking Love wasn't included.
Can't wait for Justin's next adventure.

Oh God. This makes me want to write a love letter to the developers of Aegisub.
I actually wasn't aware that Media Blasters had been around for so long. It makes sense now why they won't die... they've just gone back to their roots.

Perhaps S. Love has found a small following when the subtitling was done?
In any case, I've gotten an understanding of how painstaking manually subtitling anime shows was during the VHS era.

You had to write the times manually? I actually did that too once, on an episode of Tenchi in Tokyo. After that, I said to myself "There must be a better way". And then the gods graced me with Aegisub.

This story must be false.
Unless someone is really lucky, it might take a few jobs to find the place that treats employees like people instead of drones.

If this is Justin that wrote this story I believe him
Quote: | I had been wasting time and living off of my savings, but I needed a job. I stopped at a newsstand and bought a newspaper so I could pull out the want ads. But just then, I received a mysterious email. It was from a huge fan of ANN, who wanted to hire me to do something similar.
And I could not believe who this company was. It wasn't just anybody. It was someone big.
It was Sci Fi Channel.
To be continued... |
The suspense is killing me already.

Sci Fi Channel? Dang, you're getting into some big business, Justin. Now I'm suddenly very curious about Spanking Love.

Oh, the cliffhanger!
By the end, I realized that, compared to some previous columns, not a whole lot seemed to happen in this one, but it was a fun read nonetheless. Looking forward to the continuation.

What a stupid name change. I know that they did it for copyright purposes; that still doesn't make it any less stupid.

Sci-Fi? Hot dang, that must have been something. For the record, I'm just going to stick with calling it Sci-Fi Channel since this has to be before their name change in 2009.
