I feel like I might have seen a live action movie adaptation of this manga on Netflix a few years ago. It sounds familiar.

Its not that people forgot what high school was like
its that for some folk they actually excelled at it. Then they find a mysterious notebook and a tall dude who really likes apples and it's all down hill from there. |

There were some nice times in High School, but there were plenty of bad and stressful times. It was never some magical time to be nostalgic about. Perhaps for a few it was, but not for me.
